1.5 hour naked action in Berlin: For someone who is being forgotten by this world...

Please do not forget there is still someone because of this in prison now. If you support what he has done, you could also share this article after your read this.

This is for a soldier who has done a illegal thing because of conscience

1.5 hour naked action in Berlin : For someone who is being forgotten by this world...

I am a Taiwanese student in Germany. I was naked in Berlin on Wednesday. This is because the American soldier Bradley Manning is suffering from a extreme pain for being imprisoned 1.5 year, I want to try to understand how he feels, so I was naked in wintertime for 1.5 hour too, on Wednesday in front of Amnesty International Büro Berlin.

Through this action I hope I could understand what is he suffering now.
I was very surprised that 5 people came to support me

Time and Location of My action:

Wed 2011/12/14, 12:00 AM to 1:30 PM(12-13:30)

Amnesty International, Büro Berlin
Greifswalder Str. 4
10405 Berlin

I was still not sure what is going to happen...

About me:

I am just a very normal student from Taiwan in Germany, study jazz and pop music in Freiburg. 23 years old. Male. I am really a normal, ordinary nobody. What I hope more is people could focus on why I, as person from sub-tropical country and studying in the warmest German city, would take risks of hypothermia, frostbite and life threatening, to Berlin in December for another stranger in America. What moved me? What made me do this or what pushed me so that I had to do this?

Bradley Manning
Who is Bradley Manning:

A former American Soldier, he was sent to Iraq as an Army-intelligence-analyst. He brought Wars’ documents out to exposed the atrocious human rights violations and put them on Internet through WikiLeaks’ web and server, made the Truthes public to the World. In 2010 he was charged by US government with ‘Aiding the Enemy’ and faces a life-imprisonment penalty, yet his first official hearing is not started after 1.5 year imprisonment.

As my contact with A.I.(Amnesty International), the A.I. told me they are not taking any further action on Manning’s case at this time, except for continuing to monitor the situation. Also because of “his motives and the way his case is prosecuted”, they cannot conclude that Bradley Manning is a prisoner of conscience. However, the imprisonment of Bradley Manning is the fact and the present.

To me as a Taiwanese, that Mr. Manning chose to make the Truth public, is because of his conscience, he is nothing different than the people who gave the documents of TianAnMen Square to international medias but later suffered the penalty from PR-Chinese government. Mr. Manning did neither try to sell these documents to anyone, any country or organization, nor tried to falsify or uglify these documents. He did this not for his own private profit. He is a soldier of conscience, a hacker of conscience, also a prisoner of conscience.

My Askings:

Put-Before: I am not protesting or demonstrating to any organization. I am just imploring and begging the Amnesty International and this world for more support and attention for the prisoner whom is being forgetting.

1. To the Amnesty International: Mr. Manning’s imprisonment is the fact and he is facing a life-imprisonment. I entreat the A.I. put Bradley Manning on the list of prisoner of conscience RIGHT NOW, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!

2. Question to Medias: Is Bradley Manning part of the media? If he is guilty, are the medias, especially the American medias, also accessory to this crime?

3. Question to American People: Is B.Manning a spy, or an American who was seeking for reporting the truth as a media, a soldier of conscience?

4. To this world: Please focus on him, don’t leave him alone. As the former US-Army-Analyst Daniel Ellsberg vs. former US-president Nixon. Now is a good timing to see if Mr. President Obama changed the US-government or the US-government changed Mr. President Obama.

THAT, WAS, SO, COLD

Write-After:

When I started to intend to do this, I did not dare to think it too clear. Because I know if I think too much, I would not to do this action. This action s not a reasonable action anyway. middle of December in Berlin was REALLY sooooo cooooooold! But I still hold it completely through one and an half hour. Actually, the pain for suffering one and an half hour in Berlin winter can still not compare with what Bradley Manning is suffering now - One and an half year in prison and faces everyday for a life imprisonment penalty.

This action from be decided to be released, was very hurried. I had a rehearsal before I got the train on Tuesday night and I was still looking for someone who can lettering on my back in the train. On Thursday morning I had my final rehearsal with my band. 18 hours round-trip time in trains and I was not really an half day in Berlin. But I was very surprised! I had always thinking this action as an alone-action from 6 days ago when the idea came out, to 3 days ago when I contacted every sides. I just hope the Amnesty International could feel my sincereness to focus more on this case and make some actions to help Bradley Manning. However, on the action-day there were all together 5 people appeared to supported me and a lots of people also signed on my arms and back for supporting Bradley Manning. Then the Amnesty International even came down to photographed me too! So I released: I am not alone, when you  want to do the stuff like this seriously, there are always people everywhere come out to help you. Just like the case 2 years ago from Bradley Maning.

With the artist Christian Heyne, a Canadian-German artist who lettered on my body!

Other episode: After the action we were all just too happy that we could go inside, and I was too frizzed to feel anything on my body, so that I forgot my backpack which was put a little bit far away after the door. 2 hours later when we came back to look for it, it was gone already. I always put everything in the backpack to go everywhere…so I lost almost every thing, my notebook, music documents, passport, video camera, my music scores for 2 years…..all they are gone! If you have seen that silver Nike backpack, please let me know too!

I want to give my best thank to a lot people(as the order I got in contact):

(2:23:25 pm) Manning: i could've sold to russia or china, and made bank?
(2:23:36 pm) Lamo: why didn't you?
(2:23:58 pm) Manning: because it's public data
(2:24:15 pm) Lamo: i mean, the cables
(2:24:46 pm) Manning: it belongs in the public domain
(2:25:15 pm) Manning: information should be free
(2:25:39 pm) Manning: it belongs in the public domain
(2:26:18 pm) Manning: because another state would just take advantage of the information… try and get some edge

Please don't forget Bradley Manning, and please support him if you have a chance!  If you could, please also share this blog article to make more people known who is Bradley Manning and to remind them that he is still in prison for this.
